Senator Schmitt To Attend Pope Francis’ Funeral Alongside President Trump

WASHINGTON – Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO), the first Catholic Republican elected to the United States Senate by the state of Missouri, released the following statement announcing he will attend Pope Francis’ funeral in Rome alongside President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump:

“I am honored to represent my state and my country at the funeral services for Pope Francis alongside President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and a bipartisan delegation. Pope Francis dedicated his life to the Church and to Christ’s mission.
