Senator Schmitt Statement on Killing of Hermann Police Officer

WASHINGTON – Today, Senator Eric Schmitt released the following statement after a Hermann, Missouri police officer was killed and another seriously injured last night: 

“Last night was a truly tragic night as Detective Sergeant Mason Griffith of the Hermann Police Department was shot and killed while another officer was wounded. My thoughts and prayers go out to Detective Sergeant Griffith’s family and loved ones – his sacrifice will never be forgotten. The men and women in uniform put their lives on the line every single day in service of the communities they live in, and they deserve our respect and honor. It’s my hope that the perpetrator of this crime is apprehended and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
